Holland Moor children celebrated the Royal Wedding on 29 April 2011 with a corridor breakfast party. They all came smartly dressed, the boys even with ties. Radio Wish FM and Radio Rock FM reported about it. Click on the links to listen to it. We all had a lot of fun and send our good wishes for a happy life together to The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Catherine. More pictures are on our Gallery.

Nasobem, a rare animal which walks on its noses

Three children from Class 3-4 have had their excellent work published on the website: Niamh published his diary from a tropical island, Shaun observed the fairies at work and play, Ethan published a report about four strange escaped animals, ferocious ones, in a local newspaper. Click here to read these amazing stories in full.

The animal on the left is a Nasobem (Nose Walker). It walks on its noses and smells with its feet. But its feet are not smelly. This is an extremely rare creature, but we have one at Holland Moor. We love our Nasobem.

We have more budding journalists in Class 3-4. Jessica and Clara have written about a lorry on fire at a filling station. Imagine the explosion if the petral had caught fire! Alfie reported about the disappearance of chatty children from Hamelin. The town is now quiet as a grave. Shaun reported about the great floods in Skelmersdale. Congratulations to Headteacher

Ben Turner wrote in the Liverpool Echo on 19 May 2009:
"A HEADTEACHER has been honoured by Ofsted. Michael Beale, who has been at the helm of Holland Moor Primary in Skelmersdale for over 25 years was congratulated by Her Majesty's chief inspector of education, children's services and skills, Christine Gilbert, during a celebratory event recognising outstanding schools in England."

More words of praise, click here.

Congratulations to Headteacher

Steven Hanlon, Councillor in Moorside, wrote on the web on 20 May 2009: "I visited this school when I was a Councillor in Moorside and it is an amazing place of learning. Mr Beale, the headmaster, has built a school that is equally concerned with the locality and nearby residents as it is with the children."

More words of praise, click here.

A well-wisher has donated a second walnut tree to the school in recognition to its achievements. Soon there will be a walnut forest in Holland Moore. Is this a nutcase?
