| Holland Moor now have a wonderful on-line learning aid, called Moodle (and friendly like a Poodle). Children, parents and teachers can access it through the Internet at any time, day and night, to learn something interesting, to chat with each other, do a quiz and many other useful things. For some pages you need a password and not everybody is allowed in. Click here to go to Holland Moor Moodle. If you get stuck, ask the class teacher for advice. |

Snow crisis in Holland Moor is almost forgotten. Headteacher Mike Beale came into school every day, even on Sunday, during the cold period working on ways to get it re-opened.
Go to the Gallery if you want to see Diane Highton's beautiful photographs. Snowdrops and crocuses are now coming up in the school grounds. |

Congratulations to Headteacher
Ben Turner wrote in the Liverpool Echo on 19 May 2009:
"A HEADTEACHER has been honoured by Ofsted. Michael Beale, who has been at the helm of Holland Moor Primary in Skelmersdale for over 25 years was congratulated by Her Majesty's chief inspector of education, children's services and skills, Christine Gilbert, during a celebratory event recognising outstanding schools in England." Congratulations to Headteacher
Steven Hanlon, Councillor in Moorside, wrote on the web on 20 May 2009: "I visited this school when I was a Councillor in Moorside and it is an amazing place of learning. Mr Beale, the headmaster, has built a school that is equally concerned with the locality and nearby residents as it is with the children."
More words of praise, click here.
A well-wisher has donated a second walnut tree to the school in recognition to its achievements. Soon there will be a walnut forest in Holland Moore. Is this a nutcase? |
